MORE CAPACITY FOR AUTOMATIC TOOL CHANGING

LVD’s unique ToolCell press brake system with integrated tool changer unit now features more capacity with a new 220-ton 4-meter model. The automated tool changing system significantly reduces press brake set up time to improve bending throughput.

LVD TC 220 490x327 LVD/Strippit Tool Cell

ToolCell’s integrated tool storage system features a library of top and bottom tooling housed within a “tooling stadium” located under the machine’s backgauge. An innovative gripper design built into the machine’s backgauge finger allows the backgauge to serve as the tool changer mechanism.

As the operator prepares for the next job, the press brake automatically changes the top and bottom tooling as needed. Tools are held within the machine so changeover time is minimized. All tool stations are precisely positioned by the gripper mechanism, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

LVD’s patented Easy-Form® Laser in process angle monitoring and correction technology ensures first part, good part bending accuracy. A large touch-screen display makes operation easy and intuitive.

With ToolCell, the universal quest to reduce press brake set up time is realized. Learn how this unique press brake automation system can help make your bending operation significantly more productive.

tool21 Advanced Tooling Technology

Strippit V-Series punch presses accommodate the latest tooling technology for high-performance

fabricating. These capabilities further reduce set-up time, enhance productivity and promote long life

with minimal maintenance costs. Advanced tooling technology provides:

  • Quick set up
  • Long tool life
  • Quick and precise tool length adjustment
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Slug control capabilitytool1 Advanced Tooling Technology

Multi-Tool, a unique concept in machine tooling, dramatically boosts turret capacity. The Multi-Tool

indexing mechanism, standard on all Strippit V-Series punch presses, allows each station within the

Multi-Tool to be automatically indexed. This eliminates the need for specially keyed punches and

dies and allows indexing of a greater range of commonly used tools. Once loaded, Multi-Tool

remains in the turret, reducing set-up time. Subsequent tool selection by program is completed

in less than one second.

Form tooling increases machine versatility and reduces secondary operations. Precise programmable

ram control on the hydraulic ram minimizes part springback and produces an exceptionally accurate

formed part. Wheel tooling, including rollcut and rollform capabilities, permits quick and efficient

cutting and/or forming of straight or curved shapes without nibbling. Strippit V-Series punch presses

also employ part marking technology for part number or sheet marking requirements and can utilize

tapping tools. tool3 Advanced Tooling Technology

and long tool life. Gear-driven turret drive design ensures fast, precise indexing. Bi-directional turret rotation automatically selects the shortest possible route to the next punching station for fast station-to-station positioning

Inland Empire manufacturing index improves

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Inland Empire manufacturers “registered an impressive gain” last month as firms increased production, new orders and even hiring, according to a Cal State San Bernardino report.

The San Bernardino campus’ Institute for Applied Research, which produces a monthly survey on inland manufacturing, reported the new numbers this morning.

Researchers survey manufacturers’ purchasing managers to gauge whether San Bernardino and Riverside county’s goods producers are expanding or contracting. The researchers then take those responses to compile an index in which any number above 50 signifies growth.

In March, the Purchasing Managers Index jumped from 53.5 to 60.8. Perhaps more impressive is the jump in the hiring index, which in March reached 63, the highest it has been since May 2005.

“This report is especially strong, suggesting that the recovery noted in prior ROB (Report on Business) reports is gaining momentum,” researchers Shel Bockman and Barbara Sirotnik wrote.
