Rigid Meehanite cast iron bed construction on the Pro Turn series of CNC turning centers provides the ultimate in machine tool accuracy and reliability. Box way structure design gives the Viper exceptional stability in heavy-duty cutting operations and an optimal chip removal system. Cutting reaction forces are minimized resulting in a high degree of precision. A 30 degree Y axis slide moves bi-directionally on the 30 degree Z sliding seat to provide a combination of single or tow axis balancing cylinder is added to ensure equal torques in + or – directional movement.
The Machine features a super rigid pipe-structured 30° bed and a 30° compound Y slide on the X-axis sliding seat. During Heavy-duty cutting, turning or milling operation it demonstrates excellent stability and versatility.
Headstock & Spindle
An unrivaled fast, rigid and accurate spindle, made of special alloy steel, and manufactured with complex machining procedures to obtain the optimum precision and durability.
The Pro-Turn spindle is housed in a cast iron headstock that is designed to easily handle the 20HP drive capacity. The Headstock has thermal deformation prevention design for more accuracy. Relying on the latest technology provided by Fanuc, the Pro Turn uses Fanuc’s brush-less digital spindle motor. This spindle design allows for flexibility for different feeds and speeds needed when cutting a variety of materials. The Pro-turn spindle generates excellent surface finishes and extraordinary metal removal rates. High accuracy P4 grade angular contact thrust spindle bearings ensure precision turning during long-term operations. With a robust 4.7” inner diameter spindle bearing, the Viper series of CNC turning centers provides the rigidity for this accurate spindle. There are 2 stages of pressure reduction in clamping the C axis to obtain high precision and stability cutting capacity in turning and milling operation for your day-by-day jobs.
The machine may be equipped with servo driven sub-spindle or programmable tailstock. It provides flexibility to cope with a wider range of applications.
